Hawaiian extends partnership with Perth Wildcats

The Perth Wildcats and Hawaiian have extended their partnership for the next two years.

The extended partnership means WA kids will continue to have the opportunity to participate in the popular Halftime with Hawaiian basketball games, played in front of over 10,000 fans at Perth Wildcats home games.

Hawaiian is committed to giving back to the WA community and by teaming up with the Wildcats, hundreds of students benefit from skill sessions at local primary schools as well as the halftime games.

Perth Wildcats managing director Nick Marvin said the community focus of both organisations is what makes this partnership a successful one.

“As a basketball team, we aim to inspire and change lives, and the number one way we do this is through extensive community engagement,” said Mr Marvin.

“Hawaiian has common goals, which allows us to really reach out to kids throughout WA. It’s a real pleasure to see the joy young people experience playing in front of thousands at Perth Arena in Halftime with Hawaiian games.”

Hawaiian Director and CEO Russell Gibbs said the partnership plays an important role in the company’s community program.

“One element of our community program is about helping our local communities have access to experiences that engage and inspire our youths. The only reason we are able to make this happen is through our partnering with likeminded organisations, such as Perth Wildcats.” he said.

“The positive feedback from coaches, parents and teachers about the changes they see in young people after taking part in one of our experiences with the Perth Wildcats simply reaffirms why we place so much value on being able to give back to our communities.”
