Kalamunda Suns | Halftime with Hawaiian

It wasn’t just a big night for the Perth Wildcats on Friday 26 February at the deciding third game for the NBL finals, the U14 boys Kalamunda Suns had their own pre-game jitters as they prepped for their Halftime with Hawaiian game.

Halftime with Hawaiian is a initiative run by Hawaiian, WA property group who owns and manages Forrestfield Forum & Marketplace, to help local junior basketball teams experience playing on the very same court as the Perth Wildcats in front of thousands of avid basketball fans.

The team, some of whom have played basketball up to six years, were keeping their cool as they got ready to hit the court. However, there was no hiding the excitement afterwards. With the adrenaline well and truly pumping, it was high fives all round once they got back to their seats.

"It was a surreal experience for the boys - one that they will remember for many years to come", said Kalamunda Suns Head Coach, Michael Clarke.

Hawaiian and Perth Wildcats have re-newed their partnership which means local basketball teams will continue to have the opportunity to participate in the popular Halftime with Hawaiian basketball games, played in front of over 10,000 fans at Perth Wildcats home games.
