Plastic Free July at The Park Centre

Thanks to the Victoria Park Transition Network, we’re hosting a Plastic Free July event in order to reduce the amount of plastic that ends up as landfill.

If you forget your reusable shopping bag during July, simply borrow a reusable or paper bag from our borrow-a-bag stand outside Coles and return it next time you're in-centre.

The Victoria Park Transition Network will be manning the stand (kindly made and donated by the local Men’s Shed) every Saturday morning in July where you can pitch ideas and win prizes.

Here are just some of the ways our retailers can help you go plastic free this July and beyond!

  • The Butcher Shop will gladly weigh your reusable containers and fill them with delicious delicacies.
  • Domenic’s Fruit & Veg welcomes the use of reusable produce bags and provides boxes free of charge. Phone to order bulk and reduce packaging.
  • Bakers Delight will gladly fill your cloth bread bag with treats fresh from the oven. Bring large containers for those yummy sweet treats.
  • Coles invites you to return all plastic bags for recycling, and encourages the reuse of produce and canvas bags, as well as paper bags for bulk items.
  • The Source Bulk Foods is a leader in the zero waste revolution and are waiting to fill your containers with wonderful organic spices, grains, nuts and sweet treats as well as honey and organic body products.
  • Esprit Café offers a 10% discount for bringing your own coffee cup.
